SEATTLE – In the first period at Climate Pledge Arena, Utah Hockey Club forward Logan Cooley opened scoring against the Kraken.
In the first ever matchup between Utah and Seattle, the Hockey Club took the early advantage off the stick of Cooley.
A key pursuit from Schmaltz kept this O-zone possession alive and Logan Cooley made sure to bury it on a one-timer from Keller.

Utah is fourth in the NHL in first-period goals scored. When they went to the power play following a hit on the boards from Brandon Tanev, it felt like only a matter of time until the games opening goal.
About nine minutes into the game, Cooley posted up on the right wing and loaded up as Clayton Keller circled around to the point.
Keller put it in the perfect spot and Cooley did the rest to give Utah a 1-0 lead.
