Utah Ute Senior Brandon Carlson Declares For Upcoming NBA Draft

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Utes Senior Branden Carlson took to Twitter to announce that he will be declaring for the upcoming NBA draft.
Carlson played 109 games for Utah, starting in 103 of those games.

The 7-footer was always able to make an impact when he played. For his career, Carlson shot 52% from the field and 33% from behind the arc.
Last season, he averaged 16.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and just over 2 blocks per game.
Awards continue to stack up for @ballerbranden35 after being named @NABC1927 First-Team All-District for District 19.

Carlson’s honors include the 2021 Sunshine Slam Tournament MVP, 2021-2022 All-Pac-12 Second-Team, 2022-2023 All-Pac-12 First-Team, and NABC First-Team All-District.
KSL Sports NBA sources see Carlson as a late second-round pick or undrafted free agent with a chance to stick in the NBA due to his size and shooting.

Carlson’s ability to stretch the floor is a skill that is heavily valued at the professional level.
Carlson has shown that his game is constantly evolving. In his first three years at Utah, he shot a total of 85 threes. Last season, he shot 124. His four 3-point attempts a game was the third most on the Utes roster, only behind Gabe Madsen and Lazar Stefanovic.
Carlson ended his senior season scoring double-digit points in 22 consecutive games. This included seven games of 20 or more points.
