SALT LAKE CITY – The first recruiting contact period of 2025 opened on Monday, and Utah football coaches have been on the road.
After putting most of the finishing touches on the 2025 recruiting class, this contact period serves as the metaphorical starting point of the 2026 recruiting cycle.
The contact period allows coaches to visit prospects off-campus and evaluate them. The winter contact period opened on January 6 and runs through February 1, with a brief four-day dead period from January 12-15.
Kyle Whittingham and his coaching staff have visited a number of local schools so far. They’ve also met with prospects individually and will be evaluating others who could be close to earning an offer, too.

One of the top priorities for Utah in the 2026 recruiting class is Davis high defensive lineman Lopeti Moala Jr. He holds offers from BYU, Iowa State, USC, and Utah, among other and he’ll be one Utah fans need to keep a close eye on.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder has been a focal point of Utah’s recruiting efforts in this class. Thanks to his combination of athleticism and size, he’s a rather versatile defensive line prospect.

The Utes traveled south to make an in-home visit with one of the top prospects in next year’s class. Utah sent new offensive coordinator Jason Beck, tight ends coach Freddie Whittingham, and offensive line coach Jim Harding to visit with Harris.
Brock Harris is a rather highly touted tight end out of Pine View High School in St. George. He holds offers from programs across the country but recently named BYU, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, and Utah as his top six choices.
The first new offer was extended to Timpview lineman
Class of 2027 Timpview lineman Ian Aloisio is the first prospect to receive an offer from Utah during the contact period.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman, received the offer from Utah offensive line coach Jim Harding.
This is Aloisio’s ninth scholarship offer, which includes programs like Arizona, BYU, and Iowa State, among others.
