SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes took advantage of a diving interception by Devin Lloyd with a Tavion Thomas touchdown run against the Weber State Wildcats.
The Utes hosted the Weber State Wildcats at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Thursday, September 2.
With 13:12 remaining in the second quarter, Weber State quarterback Bronson Barron threw a pass that was deflected by the Utes.
Lloyd was determined not to let the deflected ball fall the turf. The linebacker made a spectacular diving catch and intercepted Barron’s toss.
Devin Lloyd is a special player. The #Utes are lucky to have him back for one more season. He'll be a day 2 pick in the #NFL draft next spring.#GoUtes l @KSLSports pic.twitter.com/6RS1tdyuHM
