Devin Lloyd Named Pac-12 Defensive Player Of The Week, Three Utes Nominated

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Pac-12 released the first football weekly awards of the 2021 season and Utah LB Devin Lloyd earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Devin Lloyd was all over the field in Utah’s season opening win over Weber State on Thursday. The preseason All-American finished with 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, a forced fumble and one interception.
It was the fifth time in Lloyd’s career where he recorded double digit tackles in a game. Three other Utes were nominated for awards, including quarterback Charlie Brewer for Offensive Player of the Week, kicker Jadon Redding for Special Teams Player of the Week and OL Braeden Daniels for Offensive Lineman of the Week.

UCLA RB Zach Charbonnet earned Offensive Player of the Week, Arizona State returner D.J. Taylor was named Special Teams Player of the Week, UCLA OL Alec Anderson earned Offensive Lineman of the Week. Also, Arizona State DT D.J. Davidson won Defensive Lineman of the Week and Oregon LB Justin Flowe earned Freshman of the Week honors.
Utah will be on the road this week when they head to Provo to face in-state rival BYU on Saturday, September 11 at 8:15 p.m. MDT on ESPN.
