Culture Is A Big Part Of Utah’s Success
Pili was quick to give credit to her team’s dedication to building a solid culture as to why they are seeing the uptick in success they have the past two seasons. Pili transferred just this year to the Utes from USC, and head coach Lynne Roberts has been very pleased with her new star player’s ability to adapt to what Utah wants to do.
“Obviously Utah having a good season, last season and building off of that momentum and keeping that culture,” Pili said. “I think culture is a big part of our success and just why we are doing so well. It helps when a team is truly a team off the court as well as on the court. That chemistry is- the chemistry with this team is just the best I’ve ever been a part of.”
Pili says she and her teammates have been looking forward to a potential matchup with LSU for a while now, and are very excited and motivated they will be their next challenge in the Sweet 16.
“Every game is an opportunity to prove ourselves as a team and individually,” Pili said. “I think a lot of people overlook us and playing teams like that gets you a lot of publicity. It’s motivating to just want to go out there and show we can compete with them and that we are really good too. I’m excited. The team has been talking about this matchup for a while. It’s one we’ve been wanting.”
