SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State guard Marco Anthony revealed that he wears No. 44 in honor of the Wendy’s 4-for-4 deal.
Athletes that play sports with uniform numbers usually pick their numbers based off of something significant in their life like the number they wore in youth leagues growing up. Or their parents or family members wore that number. But not Marco Anthony.
If the Name, Image and Likeness bill passes, this would be a prime endorsement for Anthony.
After Bleacher Report posted the reason why Anthony wears No. 44, Wendy’s responded with “smartest player on the court tbh.”

KSL SportsBeat anchor Sam Farnsworth was one of the first to mention that Anthony should pursue a partnership with Wendy’s after finding out that little nugget (no pun intended).
Hey @Wendys, give this kid an endorsement deal! (College students can do that now, right?) @MarcoJAnthony wears 44 because he loves the 4 for 4 deal! You can’t make this stuff up!#AggiesAllTheWay pic.twitter.com/E8X2OuQzJI

The Virginia transfer is in his first season at Utah State and is averaging 10.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in 26 games played in 2020-21. Anthony had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in USU’s 62-50 win over Colorado State in the Mountain West Tournament semifinals.
Utah State will go for their third straight Mountain West Conference Tournament title when they battle San Diego State on Saturday, March 13 at 4 p.m. MT on CBS.
