Isaac Rex Scores 15th Career TD To Give BYU Two-Score Lead Over USU

LOGAN, Utah – BYU tight end Isaac Rex hauled in his 15th career touchdown to give the Cougars a two-score lead over the Utah State Aggies in the first half.
The Aggies hosted the Cougars at Maverik Stadium on Friday, October 1.
With 13:42 remaining in the second quarter, BYU quarterback Baylor Romney connected with Rex for 15 yards.
The 15-yard catch resulted in Rex’s 15th career touchdown and six points for the Cougars.
Rex’s reception gave BYU a 17-3 lead.

The play capped a 10-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 4:38.
After the scoring drive, Romney was 11/12 passing for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Rex had three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. It was the freshman tight end’s third touchdown reception of the 2021 season. He scored 12 touchdowns during the Cougars’ 11-1 campaign in 2020.
