PROVO, Utah – BYU football added another commitment to their “Elite 23” recruiting class on Tuesday night.

Leo Pulalasi from Lakes High School in Washington announced his pledge to BYU.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Pulalasi is projected to play running back when he matriculates into BYU. But during his prep career in the Pacific Northwest, Pulalasi put together film at slot receiver and on the defensive side as a linebacker.

“I am super excited to start this next chapter of my life after we handle business senior season,” wrote Pulalasi in his commitment post on Twitter.

Pulalasi is now the fifth commitment in BYU football’s 2023 recruiting class and is the second-highest-rated class recruit according to 247Sports’ ratings. 247Sports tabbed Pulalasi with an 86 rating, one point behind Timpview’s Pokaiaua Haunga.

Pulalasi has yet to receive a rating from the industry-standard 247Sports Composite due to other recruiting services not rating him yet.

Through the spring evaluation period, Pulalasi was a riser on the recruiting trail earning a handful of scholarship offers, including from BYU RB coach Harvey Unga.

A dual-sport athlete, Pulalasi competes in basketball and track and field for Lakes High School.

Last season, Pulalasi earned 3A Pierce County League offensive player of the year honors. He rushed for 931 yards and 13 touchdowns in 10 games played. Pulalasi even played some quarterback for Lakes passing for 216 yards and completing two touchdowns.
