SAN ANTONIO, Texas – It was a fitting end for a first half dominated by the BYU special teams unit as Will Ferrin equaled his career-long field goal to give the Cougars a 20-0 halftime lead.
No. 17 BYU ends the 2024 campaign in the Valero Alamo Bowl against Heisman Trophy-winner Travis Hunter and the No. 23 Colorado Buffaloes.

Ferrin crushed the 54-yard attempt, easily clearing the crossbar on a kick that looked like it could have been good from much longer.
Both offenses struggled to find first-half consistency, but the Cougar’s special teams were just that, special. Two 50+ yard field goals, an onside kick recovery, and a 64-yard punt return from Parker Kingston allowed BYU to build a gauge lead at the break.
The Cougars picked up 152 yards of offense compared to just 61 for the Buffaloes.
