BYU Football Lands Commitment From Bountiful High QB

PROVO, Utah – BYU football added a State Champion quarterback to its 2025 recruiting class.
The Cougars picked up a commitment from Bountiful High signal-caller Emerson Geilman.
Geilman announced his commitment on X, formerly Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 193-pound quarterback passed for 2,465 yards and had a 7-1 TD-INT ratio (22-3) during the 2024 season. A dual-threat prospect, Geilman also rushed for 829 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Geilman led Bountiful High to a 5A State Championship last month. It was the Redhawks’ first state title since 2003.
In the championship win over Roy at Rice-Eccles Stadium, Geilman accounted for two touchdowns in the 42-35 victory.

Geilman earned 5A Player of the Year recognition from the Deseret News.
Earlier in his senior season, Geilman was named the KSL Sports Week 9 Northern Utah High School Player of the Week.
Geilman passed for 5,415 yards for his career at Bountiful and rushed for another 1,133. He completed 59.9% of his pass attempts as a Redhawk.
Last summer, Geilman was named a QB MVP during one of their on-campus camps. He later had game visits to LaVell Edwards Stadium as BYU navigated a 10-2 season.
Geilman is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has plans to serve a two-year mission for the Church.
When he plans to serve his mission is still to be determined.
Geilman competed in an Elite 11 regional in Las Vegas last spring. He posted the second-best rating among the quarterbacks that competed in Vegas, with a 95.82 rating.

The 95.82 rating consisted of a 4.7 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical jump, 4.47 shuttle, and other testing metrics.
