PROVO, Utah – BYU football coaches are on the road, hitting the recruiting trail for the winter contact period.
The winter contact period began on January 6 and runs through February 1. It’s a time in the recruiting calendar when coaches can make in-person, off-campus visits to recruits.
One of the top priority visits was Pine View High (St. George, Utah) tight end Brock Harris.

Harris is a four-star prospect in the 2026 recruiting class. The 247Sports Composite ratings rate him as the No. 27 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle and the No. 1 recruit in Utah.
You roll out all the stops when it’s a heralded prospect like that.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake, tight ends coach Kevin Gilbride, offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick, passing game coordinator Fesi Sitake, and associate head coach Jay Hill were all in St. George to visit Harris and his parents.
“Me and my parents spent some great time with these coaches,” wrote Brock Harris on X. “Thank you for stopping by [Pine View High] and showing the love.”

BYU is one of the programs in Harris’ top six, which he unveiled last month. Utah, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, and Miami are the other programs pursuing the 6-foot-6, 238-pound prospect.
If BYU can land Harris, the Pine View High star would be the highest-rated pickup for the Cougars in the Kalani Sitake era. He has a 0.9648 composite rating on 247Sports.
Harris participated in the Under Armour All-America Game in Florida earlier this month and will play in the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii on January 17.
In 2024, during his junior year at Pine View High, Harris had 41 receptions for 527 yards and nine touchdowns.
BYU coaches also visited Folsom High, home of Ryder Lyons
Another notable stop on the recruiting trail for BYU coaches was in California at Folsom High School.
Folsom High is the home of five-star QB prospect Ryder Lyons in the 2026 class.
