It was the final practice of the season for the 10-2 Cougars, who are gearing up to take on No. 23 Colorado this Saturday night at the Alamodome.
As they pulled up to the Division III stadium, BYU players were greeted by rainy skies, but midway through practice, the skies broke free with sunshine.
It was the first practice of the week after arriving in San Antonio on Christmas Eve, then taking an off day for Christmas at SeaWorld.
One of the individuals who was out there at practice was wide receiver Darius Lassiter.
Lassiter will have to miss the first half of the bowl game due to an unsportsmanlike penalty against Houston on November 30.
“I know the guys were energetic to get out there,” said BYU wide receiver Darius Lassiter. “You can kind of tell that we had a little day off. But everybody’s energy was high.”
During the media observation period, we saw the punt team in action and some position group drills in the early portion of practice.
Following the final practice of the season, BYU players spent some time with youth from the San Antonio area.
After leaving the field, BYU players each received a personal pizza. Over 100 personal pizzas were waiting for them inside Trinity University.
BYU football will have a walkthrough on Friday as part of their final preparations for Saturday’s Alamo Bowl.
