PROVO, Utah – BYU’s 36-14 Alamo Bowl pasting of Colorado was successful on the field and in the ratings after reports of more than eight million people tuning in. The Alamo Bowl was one of three non-CFP bowl games featuring two top-25 opponents.
The Buffaloes have been one of college football’s biggest draws since hiring Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, ahead of the 2023 season. Touting Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver, defensive back Travis Hunter, and Shedeur Sanders, the presumptive No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft, Colorado has been a media darling after rebounding from a disappointing 2023 season.

The Buff’s television presence and the nationwide following for BYU resulted in the Alamo Bowl becoming the most-watched non-CFP college football bowl game since the 2020 Citrus Bowl. Alabama Crimson Tide and the Michigan Wolverines faced off in that game.
2024 was a watershed season for the Cougars after beginning the year with low expectations. In its second Big 12 season, BYU’s defense, special teams, and an opportune offense lifted the program to its 13th 11-win campaign in team history.
