The Cougars were the first team to take the stage for Thursday’s pep rally.

BYU head coach Kalani Sitake was joined by players Tyler Batty, Jake Retzlaff, Darius Lassiter, Isaiah Bagnah, and All-American kick returner Keelan Marion.
As BYU’s ninth-year head coach and his players took the amphitheater stage, four boats filled with the rest of BYU’s players rolled down the River Walk to greet fans.
When Kalani Sitake took the microphone to speak, he thanked the Alamo Bowl for their hospitality and the city of San Antonio for its food establishments in San Antonio.
Sitake congratulated the Colorado Buffaloes on their 9-3 regular season and expressed gratitude for their partnership with them in the Big 12 Conference. He also thanked the BYU fans who made the trip to San Antonio.
Kalani Sitake: “I’ve got some boys that can play, too.”
But before Sitake handed the microphone to the designated hype man for the night, senior Tyler Batty, Sitake left with a remark that fired up the BYU faithful along the River Walk.

“And finally, but not least, I wanted to say thank you to the boys,” said Sitake. “I know there’s a lot of talent that’s going to be on the field [on Saturday]. A lot of attention goes to the other school, we know that. But I’ve got some boys that can play, too. I’m ready to show them off.”
BYU enters Saturday’s Alamo Bowl matchup against Colorado as an underdog.
Much of the game’s attention has centered around the Buffs, who boast Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, projected top-three NFL draft pick Shedeur Sanders at QB, and Colorado head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders.
The national media has paid little attention to BYU in a matchup that many outlets have ranked as the top bowl game outside of the College Football Playoff.
After Sitake’s remarks at the pep rally, First Team All-Big 12 defensive Tyler Batty took the microphone. He led BYU fans in a “Cougar Roar” and a rendition of BYU’s “Turbulence” that takes place before the start of the fourth quarter at home games at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Colorado’s portion of the Pep Rally featured Coach Prime and CU players Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, Cam Hawkins, Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig, Shilo Sanders, Charlie Offerdahl, Ben Finneseth, and Yahya Attia.
The highlight of Colorado’s segment was Coach Prime introducing “the greatest Buff of all-time,” Colorado superfan Ms. Peggy.
