SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz steamrolled the Indiana Pacers 152-128, fueled by big scoring outputs from Lauri Markkanen, Ace Bailey, and Svi Mykhailiuk.

Markkanen scored 35, while Bailey and Mykhailiuk each scored 20 to lead the Jazz to victory.

Pacers Cure Jazz’s Offensive Woes

The Jazz entered Tuesday’s game against Indiana struggling on offense, owning the league’s second-worst offensive rating since Halloween.

Fortunately for Utah, the Pacers—depleted by injuries and lacking star power at the top of their roster—proved to be the perfect remedy for the Jazz’s offensive woes.

After falling behind 10-0 to start the game, the Jazz responded with a 38-point first quarter and piled up 70 points by halftime.

Indiana’s troubles didn’t end there.

Utah exploded for 44 points in the third quarter and added another 38 in the fourth, cruising to a dominant 152-128 victory.

The Jazz’s 152 points marked the fourth-highest total in franchise history and the third-most ever scored in a regulation game.

They shot 55 percent from the field and 45 percent from three-point range, leading to their easiest win since opening night.

Isaiah Collier Helps Foul-Prone Jazz

Isaiah Collier quietly returned to the rotation during Friday’s loss in Minnesota, but on Monday against the Timberwolves, he looked more like himself. In just 16 minutes off the bench, he scored five points and handed out seven assists.

Collier upped his game against the Pacers, finishing with 14 points and 11 assists off the bench.

With Keyonte George battling foul trouble throughout the night, the Jazz leaned on Collier to stabilize the offense—and he delivered.

The Jazz surpassed 30 assists only twice in their first eight games this season. But since Collier’s return from a hamstring injury, they’ve done it twice in three games—including Tuesday’s 38-assist performance against Indiana.

Is Collier’s passing rubbing off on the team?

“I don’t think that the rest of the team is unwilling to pass,” Hardy said. “I think Isaiah does, for sure, change the pace of the game when he’s in. He definitely has a great knack for passing early in his career, and it probably generates quicker decisions more than the willingness to pass.”

George has increased his assist average this season, and frontcourt players like Kyle Filipowski, Kevin Love, and Jusuf Nurkic have moved the ball well. But Collier’s elite speed and tempo help the Jazz push the pace, creating offensive advantages.

With Utah’s offensive struggles in recent weeks, every edge counts.

Cody Williams Is Quietly Improving

Cody Williams has seen limited action in his second season with the Jazz, logging fewer than 70 total minutes so far, including his 18 minutes against Indiana.

Despite the short stints, Williams has shown growth when he’s on the floor.

He posted modest stats on Tuesday—two points, two assists, and one rebound—but made a bigger impact on defense.

“Cody works incredibly hard, and he’s stayed ready,” Hardy said. “I thought tonight, the lift he gave us, especially on the defensive side of the ball, was big. He’s showing that he can really move his feet.”

Williams’ role remains uncertain from game to game, but with the frontcourt thinned by injuries, he seized the opportunity.

“Cody has a really high level of understanding on the defensive side of the ball,” Hardy concluded. “Offensively, I think he’s continuing to keep it really simple.”

Williams is going to have to continue to fight for minutes every chance he can get them, but in his rare chances so far this season, he hasn’t hurt his case.
