SALT LAKE CITY – The Portland Trail Blazers hired Utah Jazz assistant coach Sergi Oliva as an assistant general manager, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The NBA insider reported the news on Monday, May 30.
Oliva had spent the past two seasons as an assistant to Jazz head coach Quin Snyder.

During his two seasons in Utah, Oliva helped the Jazz clinch consecutive playoff berths, two of the franchise’s six straight trips to the postseason.
Oliva helped the Jazz to the No. 1 overall seed in the West and the NBA’s top regular season record in the 2020-21 season.
Last season, the Jazz had a 49-33 record.
Oliva is joining a Trail Blazers organization that missed the playoffs last season with a 27-55 record. Portland played the 2021-22 campaign under first-year head coach Chauncey Billups.
