Kyrie Irving Torments Jazz in Dallas Win Over Utah

Nov 30, 2024, 6:05 PM | Updated: Dec 2, 2024, 2:22 pm

SALT LAKE CITY- The Utah Jazz took on Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks at Delta Center. The Jazz were hoping to bounce back at home after consecutive losses to San Antonio and Denver.

The Mavericks opened up a 20-point lead in the first half, but the Jazz were able to close the gap thanks to a huge performance in the first and second quarters from Walker Kessler. Utah entered the halftime break trailing Dallas by a score of 56-49.

In the second half, the Jazz maintained their bit of momentum, getting to within ten points of the Mavericks several times but were never able to erase the deficit completely.

Utah lost steam as the fourth quarter started to wind down and Dallas began to pull away, finishing off the Jazz 106-94.

Saturday was the fourth time that the Utah Jazz were held below 100 points this season. The Mavericks rode on the back of Kyrie Irving who finished the night with 30 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and four steals. He was also a Mavericks’ best +17.

Utah’s best performance came from Walker Kessler who built on his strong first half to finish the game with a double-double (18 pts, 10 reb).

The Jazz are right back at it tomorrow as they take on Lebron James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers in Los Angeles to close out the back-to-back.
