ORLANDO, Fla. – The Utah Jazz had another red-hot start from beyond the arc, this time it was in the first quarter against the Dallas Mavericks.

In the first half of their double overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Jazz went 12 of 21 from the three-point line. They went on to make a franchise record 22 triples on Saturday.

The Jazz knocked down 9 three-pointers on 15 attempts for 60 percent in the first quarter against the Mavericks and took a 38-30 lead at the break. It’s a franchise record for most three-pointers made in a quarter. Utah made 13 field goals in the first quarter with nine of those makes coming from downtown.

Jordan Clarkson and Georges Niang each knocked down three triples. Niang didn’t miss a three-point attempt while Clarkson missed once. Mike Conley made two of his three attempts from beyond the arc and Joe Ingles connected on one three-pointer on four tries. Royce O’Neale was the only Jazz player to attempt a three but not make one, he went 0 for 1 in the first quarter.

Niang had 10 points in the quarter, while Clarkson added 9 points.

It’s the seventh of eight reseeding games for the Jazz. They are 2-4 inside the NBA bubble in Orlando. Donovan Mitchell did not play against the Mavericks due to an injury. Dallas is resting Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis and Dorian Finney-Smith.
