A Failed Final Possession For Jazz Stunts Comeback Against Lakers

SALT LAKE CITY- The Utah Jazz took on Lebron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers in the back end of a weekend back-to-back. Sunday was Utah’s last game at Delta Center before an extended December road trip. After the Lakers, the Jazz will not play at home again until December 28.
It was a back-and-forth battle between the two Western Conference opponents throughout the first half. The Lakers only led by two when the teams went to the locker rooms for halftime.
In the second half, the Lakers opened up a nine-point lead, but the Jazz did not go away easily. Utah was able to whether a chaotic last few minutes to pull to within one. With just a couple of seconds left, it appeared that Collin Sexton had hit a layup to take the lead, but a timeout called by Will Hardy before the basket negated the play.
With 2.1 seconds on the clock, the Jazz had one final chance, but Sexton bobbled the inbound pass and was unable to get a shot off, giving the Lakers the slightest edge in their 105-104 victory.

Will Hardy called a timeout with 2.1 seconds left to play while Collin Sexton was driving to the hoop for what would have been the game winner.
The action was a little out of sorts, but the Jazz probably would have been better off letting that play out.
