SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt defender Nedum Onuoha shares his message regarding social injustice. In a new video posted to social media, Onuoha thanks those seeking “positive social reform” while also offering his condolences to those who have lost their lives to the cruel reality that is, racism.
Onuoha, who originally hails from Warri, Nigeria, has lived in the United States for nearly two years after joining Real Salt Lake in September 2018. He was born and raised in Manchester, England.

“Thank you to those seeking positive social reform,” Onuoha says. “In this world that at times can only be viewed as a tragedy. Long may your voices be heard and also rest in peace to all those who have lost their lives to things that many people to this day still do not believe exist. You will never be forgotten.”
Earlier this week, Onuoha was interviewed by the BBC where he profoundly expressed his while living in the United States.
“I never go out and feel 100 percent safe,” Onuoha said.
The comments made by Onuoha comes during a time of civil unrest in the United States, as millions of Americans continue to take to the streets in protest of the death of George Floyd and police brutality against people of color. Protests and rallies have now surfaced throughout the world.
