SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has turned the once “Real Salt Lake” white seats on the east side of the stadium blue, the club announced today. The color change is to further enhance the broadcast production and assist in the display of virtual graphics for television viewers.
Wear Blue, Not White.
Due to the change, the club asks all spectators on the east side of the stadium to refrain from wearing the color white. If fans show up to the game in a white shirt the club will provide them with a free blue shirt to wear over the top.
The news sparked an immediate reaction on social media with fans now consolidating with one and another to show up to the stadium in white so they can receive a free blue RSL shirt in return.
All white seats at the RioT have been turned blue to enhance our broadcast production & display virtual graphics. If you're sitting on the East side of the stadium on Saturday please don't wear white. Those that wear white on May 1 will be given a free blue #RSL t-shirt instead.

This weekend, 10,000 fans will trickle into Rio Tinto Stadium to watch their beloved club. Many of whom have not seen live sport in over a year. A few weeks ago, the club announced the increase in attendance and hopes to further increase the number as the months go by. However, that decision will ultimately come down to the CDC and the state of Covid-19 in Utah.
Every RSL match can be streamed for free by downloading the KSL 5 TV App or on KSLSports.com.
