Real Salt Lake Announces Roster Decisions

SALT LAKE CITY – The Real Salt Lake front office has announced roster decisions following the 2022 season.
Options Denied
The club has not picked up options on the contracts of Tate Schmitt, Nick Besler, Johan Kappelhoff, Chris Garcia, Bret Halsey, and Bobby Wood.
Furthermore, Marcelo Silva, Tomas Gomez, and Sergio Córdova, all veteran players, are also out of contract.
The club has confirmed that it is actively negotiating with Silva about a potential long-term return. Discussions are also being had with Gomez and his representatives regarding a potential return for the 2023 campaign.

Córdova joined Real Salt Lake on a loan option in January of 2022, his loan is set to expire shortly, and the club currently remains in discussions regarding his transfer options and contract with FC Augsburg.
Captain Damir Kreilach, alongside the six players acquired in 2022 – Scott Caldwell, Braian Ojeda, Bryan Oviedo, Danny Musovski, Anderson Julio, and Jefferson Savarino, are all under contract and will return for the 2023 season.

As of today, the current 26-player Real Salt Lake roster includes:
Goalkeepers: Gavin Beavers, Jeff Dewsnup, Zac MacMath.
Defenders: Andrew Brody, Zack Farnsworth, Justen Glad, Aaron Herrera, Erik Holt, Bryan Oviedo, Jaziel Orozco.
Midfielders: Julio Benitez, Scott Caldwell, Maikel Chang, Bode Hidalgo, Damir Kreilach, Jasper Löffelsend, Diego Luna, Braian Ojeda, Pablo Ruiz, Jude Wellings.
Forwards: Anderson Julio, Axel Kei, Justin Meram, Danny Musovski, Rubio Rubin, Jefferson Savarino.
