Ravens DB Marcus Williams Pulls Down INT For Second Straight Game

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah Utes and current Baltimore Ravens safety Marcus Williams hauled in an interception for the second consecutive game to start the season.

The Ravens hosted the Miami Dolphins at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, September 18.

With 10:39 left in the first quarter, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw a pass into traffic and Williams broke up the pass in the secondary. The pass breakup sent the ball into the air and as Williams fell to the ground, he somehow pulled the ball in for a pick.

The interception halted a Miami drive that had gone 46 yards over eight plays.

After the opening drive, Williams had three total tackles, two solo tackles, one pass breakup, and an interception.

Baltimore owned a 7-0 lead at the time of the pick.

It was Williams’ second interception of the season. He picked off a pass during Baltimore’s Week 1 victory.

Last week, Williams had 12 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, one pass breakup, and an interception.

Williams is in his sixth NFL season and first with Baltimore. This offseason, the former Utah safety signed with the Ravens after five seasons with the New Orleans Saints.

During his NFL career, Williams had totaled 336 total tackles, 251 solo tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, 17 interceptions, and a touchdown.

Baltimore’s game against Miami is televised on CBS.
