With 8:57 remaining in the second quarter, the former Utah standout suffered the ankle injury. Blackmon momentarily remained on the turf following the play before walking slowly to the sidelines.
After receiving attention from Colts personnel, Blackmon attempted to warm up his recently taped ankle. Instead of going back into the game, the safety went to the locker room prior to the end of the first half.

Before leaving the game, Blackmon had one tackle. Indianapolis owned a 10-6 lead at the time of Blackmon’s injury. The Chiefs went on to take a 14-10 lead before halftime.
This season, Blackmon had recorded three tackles and one pass breakup in three games.
Last season, he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury early in the year and only played in six games in 2021. Blackmon also suffered an ACL injury in his final college game at Utah.
During his NFL career, the safety has posted 79 total tackles, 64 solo tackles, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, and eight pass breakups in 24 games.
Indianapolis’ game against Kansas City is televised on CBS.
