Former BYU Forward Yoeli Childs Scores First NBA Points In Preseason Game Against Nets

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU and current Washington Wizards forward Yoeli Childs scored the first points as an NBA player during a preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets hosted the Wizards at Barclays Center on Sunday, December 13.
Childs made his first NBA basket on a putback from a missed free throw by Washington’s Garrison Mathews with 5:07 remaining in the game.

The former BYU star first checked into the game with 6:3o left in the fourth quarter.
Childs ended the game with three points on 1-4 shooting. He was 1-2 from the foul line.

In addition to his scoring total, Childs pulled down five rebounds during his seven minutes of action.
Despite turning the ball over twice, he had a plus-two, plus-minus rating during his time on the court.
Washington ended up falling 119-114 to Brooklyn.
It was the first preseason game for the Wizards.
Washington’s next preseason game is against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, December 17 at 5 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on NBA League Pass.
