Instant Replay: Damian Lillard Becomes Portland Trail Blazers’ All-Time Leading Scorer

SALT LAKE CITY – Former Weber State star Damian Lillard became the all-time leading scorer for the NBA‘s Portland Trail Blazers.
The achievement came during Portland’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center on Monday, December 19.
During the third quarter, Lillard sunk a free throw for his 21st point of the game to pass Clyde Drexler for the top spot on the Blazers’ all-time scoring list.
Lillard became Portland’s all-time leading scorer with 18,041 points.

Portland went on to lose the game on a buzzer-beating shot, 123-121. With the loss, the Blazers fell to a 17-14 record this season.
The former Weber State star finished the game with 28 points on 9-17 shooting, including 6-12 on three-pointers. Lillard added three rebounds, six assists, and a steal in 39 minutes.
This season, Lillard is averaging 28.3 points per contest on 45.1 percent shooting, including 39.8 percent from three. He also averages 3.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 0.2 blocks, and 0.8 steals in 34.8 minutes per game.
Before his time as a professional, Lillard was a standout player for the Weber State men’s basketball team. He left Weber State as the program’s second-leading scorer all-time.
Lillard played for the Wildcats from 2008-12.
He scored 1,934 points during his time as a Wildcat. His jersey was retired by the university in 2017.
Lillard was drafted by Portland with the 6th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Last season, Lillard was recognized as one of the NBA’s 75 greatest players in history. He was honored during halftime of the league’s All-Star Game on February 20.
