SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau will be a member of a featured group this week at the 3M Open, the PGA Tour announced.
Finau returns Stateside following a T15 finish at The Open last week. It was another positive showing from Finau at a major tournament, however, the T15 solidified another season on the PGA Tour in which Finau will not win a major as The Open was the final major of the 2020-21 PGA Tour calendar.

Finau will play alongside Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler throughout the first two rounds at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. Tee times for Finau, Garcia, and Fowler are yet to be announced.
The 3M Open has brought success for Finau in the past. Most recently in 2020 when he finished in third place and took home $250K for his efforts. In 2019 he finished in 23rd, that year was his debut appearance at the 3M. Through two appearances, Finau has made the cut on both occasions and has a worst place finish of 23rd.
Following this week, the 2020-21 PGA Tour schedule only had seven more tournaments remaining. With the major tournament schedule for this season concluded, the next big event will be The Tour Championship on September 2nd through 5 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Ryder Cup will soon follow The Tour Championship on September 24th through to the 26th. Ryder Cup teams are yet to be announced, Finau is on the brink of making the team and is in need of some big finishes down the stretch to help solidify his position.
