No. 12 East Advances With Upset Win Over No. 4 American Fork

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 12th ranked East Leopards is off to the semifinals with a 35-18 win over No. 4 American Fork in the 6A football tournament.
The Leopards jumped out to a 28-6 lead in the first half with a 21-point second quarter. Izaak Zimmerman threw his only touchdown pass of the game to Orion Maile-Kaufusi. Zimmerman, Amini Amone, Mapa Vaenuku and Siona Vailahi each ran in a touchdown. For American Fork, Maddux Madsen threw three touchdown passes to Fisher Ingersoll, Garrison Grimes and Trey Roberts.
East will move on to the semifinals to battle No. 1 Corner Canyon (12-0) on Thursday, Nov. 12 at TBA.

No. 9 Bingham 22 at No. 1 Corner Canyon 57
The Miners hung around in the first half before the Chargers scored 22 points in the third quarter to separate themselves. Jaxson Dart threw five touchdown passes, three to Talmage Handley and one each to Cody Hagen and Jett Meine. Dart and Dylan Carlson each ran in a touchdown. Harrison Taggart added a pick six in the win. For Bingham, Troy Mehn accounted for three touchdowns, two passing and one rushing. He connected with Isaiah Glasker on both TD passes.
Corner Canyon will advance to the semifinals to face No. 12 East (8-4) on Thursday, Nov. 12 at TBA.

No. 10 West 0 at No. 2 Lone Peak 49
An impressive performance all around for the Knights. Jonah Heimuli threw two touchdowns, while Luke Romney had one TD through the air. They found Eli Cloward, Isaac Johnson and Luke Tucker once each. Cloward ran in two touchdowns as well, while Luke Durfey had a rushing score. Kao Hansen added a pick six.
Lone Peak will advance to the semifinals to face the winner No. 3 Skyridge (10-2) on Thursday, Nov. 12 at TBA.
No. 11 Davis 10 at No. 3 Skyridge 42
With a 21-10 lead entering the fourth quarter, the Falcons pulled away with 21 points in the final period to pick up the big win. For Skyridge, McCae Hillstead threw three touchdown passes, one to each Connor McAllister, Jack Hadfield and Teagan Calton. Chance Trujillo threw Davis’ only TD when he found David Spjut.
Skyridge will move on to the semifinals to battle No. 2 Lone Peak (11-1) on Thursday, Nov. 12 at TBA.
