SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After playing nine consecutive games in nine different buildings, the Utah Jazz return to Salt Lake City for a six-game homestand.

The six games will be the longest homestand of the season so far for the Jazz after playing with of their last nine games on the road. Despite the travel-heavy schedule, the Jazz return to Utah carrying the NBA’s longest current win streak while owning the second-best record in the NBA.

The team has won five consecutive games dating back to their January 8 matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Jazz have since earned victories over the Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, and most recently against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.

Donovan Mitchell has snapped out of his early-season funk during the streak averaging 26.2 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 46 percent from the three-point line.

Bojan Bogdanovic also appears to be emerging from his slow start to the season. The sharpshooter is averaging 16.2 points and 3.8 rebounds over the last five games while shooting 45 percent from both the floor and from deep.

Bogdanovic opened the season averaging 11.8 points while shooting just 35 percent from the floor and 34 percent from the three-point line during the Jazz first eight games.

Despite hosting the next six games in Utah, the Jazz will see just four different opponents. The team opens the stretch with back to back games against the 5-7 New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday and Thursday. The team will then play host to the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks, before finishing the stretch with a two-game series against the Dallas Mavericks.

Important Homestand For The Jazz

The six-game homestand is an important stretch for the Jazz who will see a significantly tougher schedule over the final 17 games of the first half of the regular season.

The Jazz will face 10 teams currently slotted to make the playoffs in their final 17 outings, five of which will come on the road.

The stretch includes games against the Nuggets, the Clippers, and the Lakers which will play a significant role in determining Western Conference playoff seeding at the end of the season.

The Jazz are one of the league’s elite teams away from home this season with a league-leading seven wins away from Vivint Arena. However, the team is just 2-2 at home with losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns.

Despite their slow start at home, the Jazz had arguably their most complete performance of the season on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks. Six Jazz players scored in double figures while the defense held the Hawks to just 92 total points in an easy 24 point victory.

The Jazz homestand begins on Tuesday against the Pelicans. The game tips-off at 7 pm MST and will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
