SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Hockey Club looked to be headed for overtime, but a New York goal with 1:25 left gave the Islanders a 2-1 win.

Utah HC (18-17-7, 43 points) fell to the Islanders (17-18-7, 41 points) on Saturday, January 11. Utah won the first matchup, picking up the 5-4 road victory on October 10.

Utah entered the night fifth in the Western Conference Wild Card race, ten points out of a Central Division playoff spot. The top two Wild Card teams advance to the playoffs.

Clayton Keller leads Utah with 41 points. The captain leads Utah HC with 14 goals and 27 assists. Keller has a current two-game assist streak.

Josh Doan played 14:18 in his return to the team as he fills in for the injured Dylan Guenther. Guenther is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury suffered in a loss to the Florida Panthers.

Anders Lee leads the Islanders in scoring, netting 19 goals in 41 games. Lee’s 33 points pace New York.
