SALT LAKE CITY — In a shocking announcement, Utah defensive tackle Keanu Tanuvasa shared that he has decided to enter the transfer portal.
After three seasons at Utah and even an announcement that he would return for 2025, Tanuvasa will be playing football elsewhere next year.

Keanu Tanuvasa to the transfer portal
The decision to enter the portal likely wasn’t an easy one for Tanuvasa. A public announcement of his return to Utah came earlier this month.
According to a source, there was zero inclination that this was imminent. Yet, his decision to enter the portal is likely fueled by the market for defensive linemen.
Though he just entered the portal, sources have indicated that two teams will be at or near the top of the list for him: USC and Michigan.
The BYU Cougars, among others, are also involved, but currently, the Trojans and Wolverines are believed to be the top options.
Update 12/22 7:00 pm: This one actually seems to be trending towards USC and BYU. A return to Utah isn’t off the table but it seems unlikely.
Keanu Tanuvasa’s Utah career
The third-year player had 24 games played and finished with 50 tackles, 12 for loss, and 4 sacks.
Tanuvasa was an important piece to the defensive line the past two seasons and was being counted on to lead the team into 2025.
