PROVO, Utah – BYU football flips another Power Conference recruit.
This time, it’s 2025 offensive tackle prospect Siosiua Vete.
Siosiua Vete is a twin brother to fellow BYU commit Kelepi Vete. Like Kelepi, Siosiua hails from Oakland, California.
It’s another notable flip along the offensive line for BYU’s 2025 recruiting class. BYU picked up a commitment from IOL Alai Kalaniuvalu earlier this month, who flipped from the Oregon Ducks.
“Thankful for the opportunity to become a Coug! Thanks to family, friends, and coaches for the unwavering support through this process,” wrote Vete on X.

Siosiua Vete had committed to Stanford in August of 2023. However, BYU was still making inroads, and that was evident when twin brother Kelepi committed to the Cougs in May.
Kelepi Vete responded to the commitment post on X with a gif of pancakes flipping.

Vete is a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings and is the nation’s 80th-ranked offensive tackle recruit.
The 1,106th-ranked national recruit is 6-foot-6, 280 pounds.
He picked BYU over reported offers from Stanford, Arizona State, Baylor, Cal, Nevada, San Jose State, and Washington State.
Vete becomes the sixth-highest-rated recruit in BYU’s 2025 class. Out of the top six commits, four are high school offensive linemen.
BYU is now up to 19 commits for the 2025 class.
The first day Vete and the rest of BYU’s 2025 class can sign is quickly approaching. National Signing Day kicks off on Wednesday, December 4.
