SALT LAKE CITY – The New Orleans Saints signed former Utah Ute and BYU Cougar wide receiver Samson Nacua on Friday.

Nacua was a walk-on at the University of Utah in 2016. The Provo native put up 82 receptions for 1,015 yards and 11 touchdowns over four years with the Utes.
Nacua then decided to return home and transferred to BYU for his final season in 2021 where he put up 21 receptions for 329 yards and three touchdowns.
After going undrafted in 2022, Nacua still got his shot at an NFL roster with the Colts.
After not sticking in Indi, Nacua took his talents to the USFL and UFL. This year with the Michigan Panthers, Nacua posted 11 receptions for 125 yards.

Samson Nacua is the older brother of Rams WR Puka Nacua. Nacua’s older brothers, Isaiah and Kai, also played football for BYU.
Samson Nacua joins a Saints team that is chock-full of former Cougars and Utah locals.
QB/TE Taysom Hill and RB Jamaal Williams are both BYU alums who help lead the New Orleans offense. Former Weber State WR Rashid Shaheed and former Utah LB Nephi Sewell are also on the squad.
