Utah Jazz Release Forwards Darius Bazley And Kenneth Lofton Jr.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have waived forwards Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Darius Bazley after the pair played for the Jazz summer league team in Utah and Las Vegas.
The Jazz announced they had released the veteran forwards on Wednesday, July 24.

Bazley, a former first-round pick (23rd overall) of the Jazz who conveyed to Oklahoma City, averaged eight points and 4.5 rebounds while adding one steal and 1.2 blocks per game in six appearances for the Jazz. He played three games with the Philadelphia 76ers last season, averaging 5.3 points and 3.1 boards on 60 percent shooting overall.
Bazley has career averages of 8.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 237 games.
Lofton Jr. has battled weight concerns in his career but appeared to slim down heading into summer league. He played 21 games last year with Philadelphia and Utah, averaging 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists as a 6’7 power forward with tantalizing skills. He averaged 13.8 points, five rebounds, and 4.8 assists on 60 percent shooting with the Jazz in four games.
Lofton Jr. averages 4.8 points and two rebounds in 45 career games.
