NBA 2K League’s Jazz Gaming Looks To Make Noise In Return To Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, kicked off its season this month.

KSL Sports went to the gaming studio at Delta Center to meet the team, preview the season, and play some games.

What Is The NBA 2K League?

The NBA 2K League is the official esports league of the National Basketball Association.

Teams compete in 3v3 and 5v5 modes on NBA 2K, a basketball video game developed by Visual Concepts. There are 25 teams in the league with 22 of them being affiliated with NBA franchises.

The esports league shares a lot of similarities with actual sports leagues. There are trades, power rankings, playoffs, and even a draft.

NBA 2K League games are broadcast on Twitch, YouTube, and NBA TV.

About Jazz Gaming

Jazz Gaming has been a part of the NBA 2KL since the league’s inaugural season in 2018.

The team made strides in the early years of the league, making the semi-finals in the 2020 season and the finals in the 2021 season.

After playing from Washington D.C. in past seasons, Jazz Gaming returns to Utah to play the 2024 season from Salt Lake City.

The roster consists of five players filling all five positions on the court. x6Mello and Feen hold the backcourt down, Kaze and Miamiers run the forward positions, and former No. 1 overall pick Ria holds it down in the middle.

Group and bracket play runs through June with the 5v5 playoffs taking place from June 26 to 29.
