Utah Women’s Basketball Handles South Carolina State With Ease

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah women’s basketball hosted South Carolina State Thursday night at the Huntsman Center and handled the Bulldogs with ease.
By halftime the Utes had a solid 58-26 lead despite putting in many of their younger players. The final score was 108 – 48 for Utah.
The Utes will be on the road the next few weeks starting with a road trip to future conference-mate Baylor on November 14. That game will tip-off at 6:30 pm MT and can be viewed on ESPN+.

Utah Women Stats Leaders
- Scoring Leader: Issy Palmer -21 points
- Rebound Leader: Alissa Pili – 10 rebounds
- Assists Leader: Issy Palmer – 6 assists
Palmer was a staggering 7-10 from both the paint and from the three while adding six rebounds and her team high six assists. Palmer played 23 minutes in Utah’s dominating win.
Pili came in second in scoring with 18 points along with her team leading rebounds. Pili was also good for two blocks in 23 minutes of play.
Gianna Kneepkens rounded out the top-scorers of the night with 16 points of her own going 5 of 8 from the paint, 4 of 7 from the three and 2-2 from the line while also adding five rebounds and six assists.
Noteworthy Women’s Basketball Team Stats
The Utah women took a lot of shots in tonight’s matchup resulting in a 45% shooting rate from the field and making 39 of 86 total shots. The Utes also put up 40% shooting from the three going 21 of 53 and 69% from the line with 9 of 13 shots made.

Utah took advantage of 20 South Carolina State turnovers for 33 points while pulling down 63 total rebounds as a team, five blocks, 11 steals and 31 assists.
