SALT LAKE CITY – There were a lot of performances to celebrate and be happy about for Utah football against USC.
One performance that was a little overlooked on Saturday came from running back Ja’Quinden Jackson who hit over 1000 career rushing yards off of a 117-yard performance against the Trojans.
During halftime, Jackson was sitting at 69-yards rushing. Utah’s SID staff came by to inform the media Jackson needed to hit 106 yards for the game (37 more yards) in order to hit the big rushing milestone.

Mission accomplished during the third quarter when Jackson sat at exactly 106 yards rushing for a minute before moving up to 110. Jackson added seven more yards in the fourth quarter for his final total of the night.
Despite Getting Over 1000 Career Rushing Yards, Ja’Quinden Jackson Felt He Could Do Better
A lot of people would be thrilled with those accomplishments, but Jackson sees room for improvement. The true mark of a “Utah man”.
“I feel like I left a lot of yards on the field,” Jackson said. “I really didn’t have my best game, I felt, but that’s why we have another week to correct it and get better.”

Interestingly enough, Jackson was not aware he hit the major career milestone, and while it is nice, still insists he has to do better with Oregon and College GameDay coming to town this weekend.
“I didn’t know that, but since you told me, I feel a little better,” Jackson said laughing. “Like I said, we have another week- another great team, a good team coming in here. I just have to lock, load, and get ready for it.”
