SALT LAKE CITY – Utah football hauled in a historic recruiting class in 2023. With eyes now turned toward 2024, we’ve created a recruiting tracker that we’ll update as commitments roll in for the Utes.
The Utes have been riding a high the past two seasons going back-to-back as Pac-12 Champions and Rose Bowl attendees while finishing No. 12 and No. 10 in the AP Poll.
With the possibility of another stellar season on the horizon for 2023, Utah looks poised to bring in another impressive class that you can follow along with here.
.@UtahCoachWhitt is up to talk about the @Utah_Football 2023 Signing Day.
Basically, it's been a really good day for the #Utes #GoUtes #UteProud https://t.co/I5Y9DHtLyq

Because recruiting can be so complicated now with the NCAA Transfer Portal, we have also made a Transfer Tracker for the 2023 that can assist you with following who has left and come in the program.
Utah Football 2024 Recruiting Class (As Of 7/15/23)
- Vili Taufotafua, Defensive End, Committed April 16, 2023
Taufotafua will actually join the 2023 class this summer as a transfer from the New Mexico Military Institute that doubles as a high school and junior college. Last season, as a freshman at NMMI, Taufotafua racked up 81 tackles and 15.5 sacks making him a potential favorite for the new mayor of “Sack Lake City”.

- Jeilani Davis, Safety, Committed May 14, 2023
The 6’1″, 190 lbs. three-star prospect out of Santa Ana, California comes from highly lauded Mater Dei High School. Last season as a junior, Davis recorded 37 tackles, three interceptions and two pass break-ups which helped put him on the map with the Utes.

- Isaac Wilson, Quarterback, Committed May 24, 2023
Right now, the four-star signal caller out of Corner Canyon is the biggest name on Utah’s future 2024 roster and the hope is Wilson will encourage others to follow suit. The talented local quarterback recently had the opportunity to compete with some of the country’s top prospects in the Elite 11 Finals and held his own.
I’m committing to Utah!!! Thanks to everyone that has helped me through this process. #goutes pic.twitter.com/jvE0sYYkQA
— Isaac Wilson (@Isaac_kawika) May 25, 2023
- Hunter Andrews, Athlete, Committed June 25, 2023
Don’t let the lack of composite stars (three-star according to 247) behind his name fool you. The Utes have done their homework on the Texas native and feel good about his potential to grow into a formidable talent. Right now the two-way athlete is slated to give linebacker a go at Utah, but there is some flexibility with the Utes to try him in other positions to find the right fit.
Commited!!🔴⚫️ #GoUtes @Colton_Swan @MasonYellicoUT @CoachMurd40 @RBlechen @CoachMartin_18 @mcneill_josh @Utah_Football pic.twitter.com/lLkjgIBp1x
— Hunter Andrews (@hunterandrews27) June 25, 2023
- Sammie Hunter, Cornerback, Committed July 1, 2023
Hunter is another guy who lacks composite stars (three-star according to 247) at the moment, but the Utah staff feels good about his overall potential and what he can eventually bring to the program. Hunter uses good technique, has great athleticism as two-sport athlete, and is coachable, making him the ultimate Utah guy.
100% committed🔴⚪️ @UteReef33 pic.twitter.com/s8iVSp9n7l
— Sammie Hunter (@_sammiehunter) July 1, 2023
- David Washington, Wide Receiver, Committed July 10, 2023
Washington is arguably Utah’s biggest get of the class to date since receiving the commitment of four-star local quarterback Isaac Wilson back in May. Washington impressed last season as a junior hauling in 52 receptions for 826 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 total games. As a sophomore, Washington built a solid foundation with 34 receptions for 670 yards and two touchdowns.

— David Washington (@Dlw_beast) July 10, 2023
- Ashtin Kekahuna-Lopes, Linebacker, Committed July 15, 2023
Kekahuna-Lopes is a three-star linebacker out of St. John Bosco who has also spent some time playing safety in high school. At 6’3″ and 215 lbs., Kekahuna-Lopes projects best at linebacker at the next level and Utah certainly knows how to develop the position under position coach Colton Swan.
Thank you to all that helped me along this journey. Although it wasn’t easy I thank god for blessing me with these opportunities and many more to come. With that being said I’d like to announce that I am fully committed to the University of Utah #GoUtes pic.twitter.com/EPHsFZcgkH

Utah Football 2024 Decommitments (As Of 7/1/23)
- Kobe Boykin, Running Back, Committed February 4, 2022, Decommitted March 21, 2023
Boykin was Utah’s first commit for the 2024 class back in the early part of 2022, but earlier this year decided to decommit from the Utes. According to 247 Sports, Boykin is still considering Utah, but just acknowledged he shut things down pretty quick without exploring all of his options and is making sure he makes the right decision.
#THEONE take your time everything will fall in place Gods work ! 🙏🏽 @adamgorney @rjgmadeit @FrampCamp @boykin_timothy pic.twitter.com/6elFQHyqu6
— Kobe Boykin (@kobe_4thawin) March 21, 2023
- Isaiah Faga, Defensive Tackle, Committed December 10, 2022, Decommitted June 28, 2023
Faga is the second Utah commit to decommit from the Utes this recruiting cycle, instead, opting to stay a little closer to home in Alabama. It’s an unfortunate turn of events but happens every year to every team. There is still a lot of time for the Utes to gain recruiting momentum for the 2024 class and based on past history, no reason to believe at this point Utah won’t walk away with the guys they need/want.
