Real Salt Lake GM Says Club Will Pull Trigger To Bring In ‘Right Pieces’
SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake general manager Elliott Fall said that the club will “definitely pull the trigger” when they find “the right piece” to bring in during the transfer window.
Fall discussed the start to RSL‘s season during an interview on KSL Sports Zone’s DJ & PK on Friday, March 17.
The long-time member of Real Salt Lake’s front office was asked by David James what plans the team has during soccer’s free agency and how aggressive the club will be in adding new players.
“We’re out there every single day. You know, we’re evaluating deals, we’re evaluating players,” Fall responded. “That includes attacking players that includes forwards, but it’s not just attacking players and forward that’s, you know, positions all over the field.”
The general manager also highlighted Real Salt Lake’s recent additions in Brayan Vera and Carlos Andrés Gómez, “who are just starting” to “find their feet” with the club. Vera has yet to play for the club this season as he recently arrived in Utah. Gomez has played in all three of RSL’s matches, including one start. Gomez has recorded two shots and one shot on goal.

Fall also pointed out the return of Damir Kreilach to RSL’s lineup. Kreilach only played in five contests last season due to a back injury. In 2021, the midfielder scored 16 goals and was an MLS All-Star.
“He’s got a goal and an assist in three games so far this year,” Fall said of Kreilach. “So Dami is certainly a threat and a potent goal scorer.”
Even with those additions, the GM said the club will continue to look at players to add and ways to improve.
“We’ve got some time left in the window and we’ll see what the rest of the window holds, and then what the summer winter holds,” Fall said. “We are looking for forwards…long-term solutions…guys that can be a part of this club for a long time. And when we have the right piece, we’ll definitely pull the trigger and we’ll have them here.”
