Reports: Bowling Green Hiring Southern Utah Men’s Basketball Coach Todd Simon

SALT LAKE CITY – The Bowling Green Falcons are hiring Southern Utah men’s basketball coach Todd Simon according to Stadium Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman.
In 2023, Simon led the Thunderbirds to the Western Athletic Conference’s third seed with a 22-12 record.

The hiring comes after a disappointing season which led to the Falcons letting go of head coach Michael Huger. Bowling Green finished the season with an 11-20 record.
Simon’s Thunderbirds won 20 or more games in three straight seasons. This included a Big Sky regular season championship in 2020-2021.

Todd Simon Earns 100th Win As Southern Utah Head Coach
The Southern Utah Thunderbirds left the North Shore Classic with a 91-87 win in double overtime over Sacramento State in November 2022.
Four Southern Utah players scored in double figures against Sacramento State. Tevian Jones led the way with 24 points on 8/17 shooting from the field. Jason Spurgin dropped 20 points and four rebounds. Drake Allen posted 14 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Harrison Bulter added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
As a team, SUU shot 48% from the floor, 26% from the three-point line, and 76% at the free-throw line.
It was the 100th career win for Todd Simon as the head coach of Southern Utah.
