Celebrating International Women’s Day With Utah Athletics
SALT LAKE CITY – “Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.”
Honored is an understatement when I think about all of the great stories and personalities I get to cover and showcase with Utah Athletics.
This is especially true with the female student-athletes, coaches, and administration who amaze me daily with their strength, courage, prowess, talent and kindness in a world that doesn’t always recognize their worth right off the bat.
As a woman in sports myself, I understand what it feels like to be doubted and questioned when it comes to ability and “know-how”. I also understand the euphoria of the “I told you so” moment which makes telling these stories and sharing my platform with these incredible women even more rewarding. Here is a sampling of the amazing “Utah Women” that I’ve been able to write about so far in honor of International Women’s Day.

Utah Athletics 50 Years Of Title IX
This past year was the 50th anniversary of Title IX and Utah spared nothing celebrating and honoring the women who paved the way for those currently making noise for the program, as well as those who are yet to come be a force.
