ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Utah Tech Trailblazers went head-to-head with the Seattle U Redhawks at home in Burns Arena on Wednesday.

The Trailblazers last game was a 2-point road loss to the UT Arlington Mavericks. The Redhawks last game was an 11-point road win over the Grand Canyon Lopes.

Utah Tech has just one more game this season on March 3. They currently sit at 12th in the Western Athletic Conference.

First Half

Tanner Christensen opened up scoring for the Trailblazers with an easy dunk.

Utah Tech answered all of the shots taken by Seattle U. They led 10-7 after the first three minutes.

The Trailblazers continued to build off their momentum. They jumped out to a 10-point leadoff of a stepback three.

The Trailblazers went into a press to force the issue. The Redhawks didn’t look prepared and let UTU go on a huge run.

Halfway through the first half, Utah Tech led, 32-16.

The Trailblazers played stifling defense which led to easy baskets in transition. They had 7 fewer turnovers than the Redhawks.

Utah Tech’s efficient offense would be the downfall for Seattle U. They shot 66% from the field and from three in the first half.

The Trailblazers led by 26 at the half, 56-30.

Second Half

Utah Tech didn’t let off of the gas coming out of the break.

They went on a 9-1 lead in the opening 5 minutes of the half.

With ten minutes left in the game, the Trailblazers had a 37-point lead, 76-39.

Frank Staine hit a tough stepback jumpshot from the mid-range.

Utah Tech held onto a 30-plus point lead for the rest of the contest and shocked the Redhawks at home.

The Trailblazers win in a blowout, 93-56.
