OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley Men’s Basketball team plays UT Arlington tonight for a chance to secure their spot atop the Western Athletic Conference.

The Wolverines have won 6 of their last 7 games. They also won their last game against the Mavericks by 8 points in early January.

Utah Valley Men’s Basketball is in a prime position to win its third WAC regular season title. The previous two came in 2014 and 2021.

They have already secured a first-round bye in the tournament. The first seed would allow UVU to play the lowest remaining seed in the second round.

The only team with a chance to steal the top spot from the Wolverines is the Sam Houston State Bearkats.

They trail UVU by one game in conference play and in their overall record.

Utah Valley and Sam Houston played one game this season on December 29. The Wolverines took a 16-point win.

The win is definitely a good sign heading into tournament play. However, if the teams match up again, UVU will not have the home crowd for support.
