It was a close contest throughout the afternoon. Neither team led by more than seven points.
However, Utah Tech owned a two-point advantage at halftime, 35-33, and appeared to take control early in the second half. After the break, the Blazers went up by three possessions before the Mavericks responded with a run to send the game to overtime in the final minute of regulation.
In extra time, the Trailblazers looked to put the game away in the final seconds.
With six seconds to go in OT, Jacob Nicolds drove for a game-tying dunk. However, UT Arlington sprinted down the court and Aaron Cash made a layup as time expired to lift the Mavericks to victory.
The result handed Utah Tech its 12th loss in the last 15 contests.
