Before his time in the NBA, Balmaro played for FC Barcelona from 2018-21.
The Las Varillas, Argentina native was selected by the New York Knicks with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Shortly after his selection, Bolmaro’s draft rights were traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In September 2021, the forward signed a multi-year rookie deal with the T-Wolves.
During his rookie campaign, Bolmaro played in 35 games for Minnesota. He averaged 1.4 points per game on 31.5 percent shooting. In July 2022, Bolmaro was traded to the Jazz as part of a deal centered on All-Star center Rudy Gobert. In exchange for Gobert, the Jazz received a haul of picks and multiple players. After waiving Bolmaro, Utah’s only remaining assets from the trade are emerging rookie center Walker Kessler and draft picks. Since the Gobert deal, the Jazz traded away Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley. All three players were traded to the Los Angeles Lakers as a part of two separate deals.
This season, Bolmaro has played in 14 games for the Jazz. He averaged 0.4 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.1 blocks, and 0.2 steals in 4.9 minutes per contest. He shot 15.0 percent from the field.
Bolmaro last played for the Jazz on February 8. He only played in four NBA contests after the start of the new calendar year.
During Bomaro’s time in Utah, he also played for the Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz’s G League affiliate. In seven games with the Stars, Bolmaro averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per contest.
