Despite Late Rally, Jazz Hold Off Pacers In Indiana
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz held off a late rally from the Pacers and earned a 123-117 win in Indiana.
Jordan Clarkson scored 29 points to match Lauri Markkanen who also added 11 rebounds.
With the win, the Jazz moved to 2-1 to open their four-game road trip.
First Quarter
The Jazz frontcourt got off to a hot start scoring 14 of the team’s 16 points including seven points from both Lauri Markkanen and Kelly Olynyk.
The Pacers erased a four-point deficit with a 12-0 run to take a 31-23 lead in the final two minutes of the quarter.

Aaron Nesmith led the Pacers with eight points as Indiana shot 5-11 from the three-point line in the opening 12 minutes.
After one the Jazz trailed the Pacers 33-27.
Second Quarter
Collin Sexton was scoreless in the first quarter but bounced back with six points in the second to keep the Jazz close.
Markkanen extended his scoring total to 17 points to lead all scorers, despite missing all five of his first half three-point attempts.

The Jazz held the Pacers to 8-20 shooting in the second quarter including 0-5 from three and just 18 points.
At the break, the Jazz led Indiana 53-51.
Third Quarter
The Pacers retook a 69-66 lead midway through the third quarter as the Jazz defense allowed Indiana to shoot 6-9 from the floor to open the period.
Jordan Clarkson countered the Pacers hot shooting by knocking down 4-4 from the three-point line in the quarter.

Clarkson scored 15 points in the quarter upping his total to 22 for the game.
After three the Jazz led the Pacers 89-88.
Fourth Quarter
The Jazz climbed out to a 103-94 lead, their biggest of the game with seven and a half minutes left to play.
The Pacers used a 12-2 run late to trim their deficit from 12 to two with four minutes left to play.

The Jazz answered back with late baskets from Markkanen and Clarkson as they took down the Pacers 123-117 in Indiana.
