Brunson, Randle Help Knicks Sweep Jazz
SALT LAKE CITY – Lauri Markkanen scored 29 points on 8-22 shooting as the Utah Jazz fell to the New York Knicks 126-120.
Talen Horton-Tucker scored a season-high 22 points but Jalen Brunson’s 38 points and Julius Randle’s 31 proved to be too much for the Jazz.
With the loss, the Jazz lost their season series to the Knicks 0-2.
First Quarter
Jalen Brunson got off to a quick start scoring 10 of the Knicks’ first 22 points by attacking the Jazz perimeter defenders.
Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton combined for 14 of the Jazz’s first 20 points on a 6-9 shooting.

The Jazz closed the quarter on a 6-0 run thanks to back-to-back buzzer-beating threes from Rudy Gay and Talen Horton-Tucker.
After one the Jazz trailed the Knicks 33-28.
Second Quarter
The Knicks opened the second quarter on a 14-8 and took a 47-36 lead midway through the quarter.
After combining for 46 points in Friday’s win over the Toronto Raptors, Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler had just eight first half points 0n 3-9 shooting.

Jalen Brunson stayed hot with 22 points in the first half.
At the break, the Jazz trailed New York 62-56.
Third Quarter
The Jazz briefly retook a 66-64 lead, but the Knicks answered with a 12-5 run to erase the advantage.
Brunson upped his scoring total to 28 points through three while Talen Horton Tucker had 17 points on 6-8 shooting.

Ochai Agbaji hit a three with two seconds left in the quarter to cut the Knicks’ lead in half.
After three the Jazz trailed the Knicks 87-84.
Fourth Quarter
After starting the game 0-7 from the three-point line Markkanen hit back-to-back deep balls to tie the game at 99.
Horton-Tucker continued to carry the scoring load for the Jazz upping his total to 23 points, a new season high.
The Knicks punished the Jazz with Brunson’s hot shooting, including a three-pointer with 3:46 left to play to extend their lead to six.
The Jazz fell to the Knicks 126-120.
