SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers, and Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly in talks over a three-team trade surrounding Mike Conley and D’Angelo Russell.
Both Shams Charania of The Athletic and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported on the rumored trade Wednesday.
“The Lakers, Jazz, and Timberwolves are in discussions on a three-team deal that would send D’Angelo Russell to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook and draft compensation such as a first-round pick to Utah and Mike Conley Jr. to Minnesota, sources tell me and @Tjonesonthenba,” Charania tweeted.

Wojnarowski added that the three teams had been having discussions shortly after Charania’s tweet.
The NBA insider appeared on ESPN discussing trade rumors regarding Russell.
“This is a player who there is going to be further conversation about, along with Mike Conley, Malik Beasley [and] Jarred Vanderbilt,” Wojnarowski said.

Conley might not be the only player heading out at the trade deadline in a potential three-team trade according to the insiders.
“Ongoing discussions have included Utah’s Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt as part of the potential three-team deal to the Lakers, sources said. Sides are working through pick protections and additional draft compensation too, per sources,” according to Charania.
Redick Says Conley For Westbrook Deal Close
JJ Redick reported that the much-rumored Conley for Westbrook trade is close to being done ahead of Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline.
Redick, a 15-year NBA veteran, and host of the “Old Man and the Three” podcast said that the Jazz and the Lakers were nearing a deal.
I’m not breaking news here, but by the time we release this episode it could be done,” Redick said. “That’s the Russ to the Jazz for Conley — I’ve heard that is close to being done.”

The episode was released the Wednesday just more than 24 hours before the Thursday trade deadline.
Last week Chris B. Haynes from Bleacher Report wrote that the Jazz and Lakers had had conversations about the potential Conley for Westbrook swap.
“The Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz have had exploratory conversations centered around star guard Russell Westbrook, league sources tell Bleacher Report,” Haynes wrote. “However, the Lakers are said to be in communication with most teams to sift through the most reasonable and logical options available.”
ESPN’s Tim MacMahon also reported that Jazz guard Malik Beasley had also been discussed in the deal, with the Jazz looking for the Lakers’ 2027 and 2029 first-round picks in return.
MacMahon added that Westbrook would likely be bought out by the Jazz to allow him to sign with another team before the playoffs.
The NBA Trade Deadline is 4 days away.

The Jazz and Lakers have been discussing various trades centered around Westbrook dating back to last summer.
The two teams reportedly had conversations on deals that included Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic before the two starters were sent to Cleveland and Detroit.
Westbrook has a $47 million expiring contract while Conley is owed $24.3 million next season, $14 million of which is guaranteed.
NBA Trade Deadline
The NBA trade deadline is set for Thursday, February 9 at 3 pm ET.
The Jazz have been viewed as one of the most active teams at the deadline with a roster full of veteran players after trading All-Stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell last offseason.
