SALT LAKE CITY – Deron Williams, Joakim Noah, and Pau Gasol all drafted their teams for the Jordan Rising Stars Challenge today. Former Jazz All-Star Deron Williams picked Walker Kessler to join his team.

Current Jazz assistant coach Jason Terry will lead the team of G League players.

Deron Williams, Joakim Noah and Pau Gasol drafted their teams today for 2023 Jordan Rising Stars. Each legend selected seven players from the pool of 21 NBA rookies and sophomores. Jason Terry will lead the team of seven NBA G League players.

One of the G League players on Terry’s team is projected top-pick in next year’s draft Scoot Henderson.

The NBA’s Rising Stars

The NBA Rising Stars Challenge is on Friday, February 17, at 7 p.m.

The game features all of the best first-year and second-year players in the association going head-to-head. In past years, the game has been played as ‘Rookies vs. Sophomores’ and ‘Team USA vs. Team World’. After a format change last season, it is now a tournament-style event with scoring goals in each round.

It was recently announced that Jazz rookie Walker Kessler will be participating in the game.
